Lipstick, Love and Spaceships

February 16, 2009

I just want to alert people to a very entertaining comic, Lesbian Pirates From Outer Space. The link is on this blog. Also take a look at the online comics link, a wonderful index of thousands of online comics. A very entertaining way to kill time while time kills you…

Thanks, mishari. I looked, and clicked on the genre of comic I thought might suit an old gent like me: ‘mature’. And the first thing i see is some badly drawn snails, and this comment from frank booth in 2007 (he’s probably popped his clogs by now):
There is a sadness in this world, for we are ignorant of many things. Yes. We are ignorant of many beautiful things. Things like the truth. So sadness, in our ignorance, is very real. The tears are real. What is this thing called a tear? There are even tiny ducts, tear ducts, to produce these tears, should the sadness occur. Then the day when the sadness comes, then we ask: “Will the sadness, which makes me cry, will this sadness that makes me cry my heart out, will it ever end?” The answer, of course, is yes. One day the sadness will end.

Well, that really cheered me up. Do maturity and comics mix? Or is it plain idiocy to assume that one is ever ‘mature’? Best to stick with abducted lesbians.

I would have thought ‘mature’ meant sex. I guess it means melancholia. That’ll teach you.

Next time click on Science Fiction…ray-guns, space monsters, lesbians. Who could ask for more?
